In the March Sceitse we return to sketch mountain walking, this time we head to the highest mountain in the Beara Peninsula called Hungry Hill. This mountain is a landscape of great sandstone blocks on the way to a mountain top crowned with a cairn. Here we will be rewarded with commanding views over Bantry Bay, Beara and Dursey Islands and discover 2 hidden loughs below, one of which feeds the highest waterfalls in Ireland & Britain, which plunges 200m.
In other words lots to sketch, draw, paint and photograph on a (hopefully)clear March day. Some nice photos of the walk here:
