Mini-Sceitse - Old Head of KInsale

1 Day Sceitse exploring the Cliffs and ruins of Garylucas and the Old Head of Kinsale, by foot and water!

Proposed adventures:- Monday the 25th of August

Cliff walk along and down to the little beaches east of Garylucas Beach. (Involves some climbing - easy for most part but you must use your own judgement here - know your limits)

Paddle Boarding with Jason Coniry proposed at €30 per head (Usually a 2 hour lesson costs €30 and Jason is willing to extend the session for us so we get a half-hour intro tutorial, plus a return paddle to areas accessible only from water, and some time there sketching, amounting to aprox 4 hours) Water confidence required for this activity. Also firm commitment from those interested. Jason can accommodate 10 - if more people are interested, he can arrange for more boards and another instructor.

Old Head Coastguards Tower - soon to be renovated so good opportunity to draw this ruin. There are a few others on the walk around the Old Head too. Amazing views from up there

The beach and water-based part of the day needs to happen as tide is low and on its way out to get most time on the little beaches. Will check tide tables for this and confirm times.

Transport:
There are regular buses from Cork City to Kinsale.
I can meet up to 4 people off the bus in Kinsale and take them out to the Old Head

Refreshments:
Bring what you think you need ;D
The Speckled Door Pub, Old Head is a good spot to chow down at the end of it all or if weather turns (have run landscape classes from the conservatory there on bad days!)

Pier-jumping off the Old Head Pier
if you fancy a bit of that, good fun to be had there at high tide - again will check tide times

Special Equipment
wetsuit if you have one and/or rash-vest swimming togs
drawing stuff!!!!!
